Any ideas looking for a small car with 4x4

Zak I am already considering getting a complete set of good winter tyres on separate rims for the winter any way.

Vimeous The sx4/sedici are both too new to fit my budget but were contenders for our first car when we bought the Terios SX. As for the trakker my wife "does not want something that looks like a van."

I have been driving a 4x4 five years as a main car I now want to replace our second car with a small 4x4 so that there are no arguments on snow days/bad weather days on who gets the 4x4 for work.

I forgot too say the budget is about £5000.

Most front wheel drive cars on normal tyres really struggle around here in the snow, every incline sees them loose traction and start sliding. (South Wales Valleys)

I think the panda looks like a lot of fun. No real knowledge about it though, or if you can get it within budget yet.

You could get a Golf V6 4motion for that, not with silly mileage either.. or a decent Impreza (they're not that big) or maybe an A3 1.8T quattro...
