    MOT Happiness

I don't know what it is but it always puts a giant great big smile on my face when the car goes through the MOT first time no faults and no advisories

Should hope so! It's not that old, or French!

Mine just about went through last time, fingers crossed it'll do the same in October. IIRC the emissions were a bit touch and go, and the brakes were a little worn but I've since changed those, and everything else is ship-shape

Ahh you forget that i've only had to do two mot's with this car so far, i'm used to getting A reg fiesta's or my old 1.4 hi torq astra through them, the final year of my astra cost me about £1k to get it through and half the reason i got my octavia.

So MOT hell yes, been there done that, remember having my MOT run out at the end of the day and having to go and rewire the electrics as the idiots testing it had broken them and had no-one qualified to fix it.

Never want to have to do that again

Last time my (mums) 106 went for MOT it kept "having the emissions test repeatedly run accidentally" until it passed... It was borderline so...

7 year old vaux astra 1.7dti. The engine is Japanese though (isuzu). Lights I replace myself (and I'm keeping an eye on tyres for the same reason), brakes I guess would get done in the regular service before they were a problem for the MOT.
