Aye, Mazda 6s are very nice indeed.

I can go up a few insurance groups without too much pain thanks to my year's no claims and two years' experience (two year's NCB in November), so I can probably get away with something a fair bit brisker than the Meggy.. Hence why I love the 2L VTEC accord I drove

    How many times...

Insurance. And running costs. I know I can get more "poke" without getting into silly levels. My engine is an old 1.6 8valve unit producing 90hp.

If I started a new policy now it'd be about £1200. But if I bought a car before I renew then I'd just get it changed and pay the extra few hundred or whatever.

When I first got my Megane it cost £1360.

Also, how many years no claims do you have?

    Edit: I don't like those BMWs ^

That BMW is all well and good, but even with legendary BMW build quality 100k+ cars are likely to get quite expensive to maintain very quickly.

I've got to ask, is there anything wrong with the Megane? If not, keep it an extra year, as a year down the line a better car will be cheaper, and insurance will drop (unless you have a crash in the meantime).

Arbitor - what is your insurance like? I'm 19, just about to get my second years no claims, so similar situation.
My plan was wait till I'm 21 and got a bit of cash sorted, then get myself something nice and comfortable but reasonably quick (z3/4/s2000/530i?). Might be a pipe dream if the insurance figures I'm looking at are realistic

That's one possibility yes. Just seeing what my options are should I change now or at the end of the year when I have another NCB

Without wanting to turn this thread into my insurance is this much..

the honda would cost me 767 fc.

Which is higher than i thought tbh, so i think you should be able to get it less than that matey.

Yes dave i know, i wasnt meaning that particular one, i meant the look of that and the engine size should be fine, and they go real nice

just seen your latest post i would recommend waiting for another years no claims if it was within the next 3 months but 6 months is ages.. and also what you would do is just tell them in November about your second year and they would drop the price accordingly or refund you a bit or w/e..

Those renault 1.6e's aren't that slow, you're gonna need a 140bhp+ car to really feel any extra speed due to the extra weight a bigger car has, your typical TDI is only going to be about the same acceleration but with a higher top speed, which unless you cane it on motorways at 120+ doesn't matter much.

To be honest you're still and expensive insurance profile with your age and low no claims bonus. Are you through the two year probationary period yet? If not then I'd stick with your megane until then, it's about as fast as you'll get in the low insurance bands.

And aren't beamers like group 15ish insurance?

That was elephant for a ballpark figure.

But i tell you now, the amount insurance goes down after 2yrs ncb is astounding tbh. It contrary to my above post almost is worth waiting then buying something with real go
