Quick question.
Should I get a T5 or not?
Yes, the insurance is expensive, the running costs are quite high and the cars aren't much to look at.
But they are cheapish, v. well equipped and built, go like the proverbial, and are proper Q cars.
Should I or shouldn't I?
On the one hand, they're awesome. And yet, and yet, I feel that a teenager driving a Volvo "old man" estate is somehow, fundamentally, wrong.

I drive an "old man car" but I don't care, it's nicer than 99% of my peer group's cars and I've been told this by a couple of people who appreciate quality

Also, can I just add...
240hp and 330nm torque as standard (for a 1999 V70) - add a relatively cheap remap and you have yourself 310hp and 430nm torque
Forget the image - 310hp and 430nm!!!!

You will look like a wally in that rocket propelled bus, everyone will think you have borrowed your grandads car . . . but at least you will be insanely comfy, and will happily outrun most things that you meet at the lights. Just mind you dont drive through anyones house with that tank.
Had an Audi A6 Quattro - thought it was great
Bought a 200 bhp Volvo AWD - and think it is okay, but not a patch on the Audi in terms of handling, road holding and quality.
Have you had a look at an Audi S4 / S6?
