    honda prelude

    Hello all
Just quick question,I've just brought myself a 1994 honda prelude 2.2si auto jap import with 160kms of a mate who was desperate for some cash.
I paid £250 for her with 7 mths mot no tax run's a treat only 3 minor spot's of rust, rest of outside is nice and straight and clean and inside is in lovely condition no rips etc
All i would like to know is did i get a good buy and what bhp would it be (as told imports are more)
and are there any performance parts worth getting to get a bit more out of her or is it just best to leave her how she is totally standered.

    Thank's paul

If it runs - you got a good deal I mean its only 250 quid and it has MOT!

I have a 98 uk prelude myself. Don't know how much bhp yours will have but it'll be 197-220 i reckon. As for upgrades - its up to you, i kept my standard coz i don't want to raise my insurance too much.

Yes she run's like a dream i've done nearly 1000 mile's in her faultless (touch wood)and pull's really well only thing is she won't go over 117-118mph,is this cos of auto or i have been told that japan limit there cars but should be able to unlimit her.
As for abs get it fixed as i've seen these car's going for £750-£1000+ if it's just the abs pump easy repair if buy 2nd hand one.

I've had her a month nearly now and she only hit that speed once only would like to get limiter off to see if it makes much improvement.

IIRC all jap import cars well not sure about nowadays, were subject to the gentlemens agreement, which basically limited all cars to 118mph, you can get delimiters easily enough, and from what ive seen of them, they dont look to hard to fit yourself.

*edit ignore me the gentlemens agreement limited all cars to 276 hp*

    Hi,
Thank's,Where would i likely get a delimiter from and what sort of cost would i be looking at.
See i got the car as mate needed cash a.s.a.p i left her on my driveway for 9 day's as i have wife and 2 kid's so i've got a t5 estate,
But decided to get insurance and tax and see what she's like but wife hate's it as too small but would'nt mind using it for a project for 1/4 mile run's or just a fun car.
    Paul.

I.e. your top speed test explains why they thought it would be a good idea to limit the top speed Hence the:
