Update on the car hunt:
We failed
G vetoed Supra's as too big. (£490 ins non-Turbo)
We both vetoed the 924 as the interior needed work and no PS with massive wheels. (£390 ins)
And we discovered the catch with owning an imported Prelude 2.2 BB4 - £780 insurance!
Makes the renewal for my Civic VTi (£395) look cheap.
One thing we did notice however: Southampton and its environs are a hot-bed of quality sub-£1500 cars. Maybe 75% of the cars we wanted to look at were a solid 80miles south! They're a lucky lot down there.
G had her heart set on a quad-lamp Celica ST at £600. Despite the little engine it looked in tidy condition and certainly worth a nose, just not the tank of fuel to see it! lol
We'll just have to see how much we save before it fails the MOT.
Edit: She threw me a couple of curve balls: she quite likes Rover 200's. The only one we saw had plenty of rust sadly. And she likes the neighbours 306 GTi Cab but the recent headgasket change puts her off (still doesn't like the hatches)
