Well... the Cab failed its MOT last Thurs, bummer!!
It didnt do too badly for a 14yr old car and 2 of the things it failed on I had already noticed.... so 2 new shocks, a weld on the steering rack and a new wheel bearing is required for the new MOT - shame they are all quite labour intensive so it will leave me £250 lighter, hey ho!
End of the day the reason I bought the Cab instead of something newer is so that I wouldnt mind so much when it needed money spending on it.
Garage also told me my discs are warped, thought they were, so new discs and pads required whilst Ive got my hand in my pocket! Luckily on my old Cab I did the brakes myself and my fella is a bit of a dab hand at that kinda thing so it will only cost me the parts.
Next the fun bit.... reversed into an Audi A4 yesterday - in a 7.5 tonne horse box!!!!
Car was parked and empty luckily, I was just reversing the lorry off the driveway - forgot the rear wheels are like 5ft in from the rear, missed the car on the way back and just kinda 'nudged' it with the rear end as I spun the front wheels hard left to get round and the arse end swung out!!!!! Oh dear! Big scratches and scrapes on the rear bumber and bootlid of the Audi in return for a 1 inch mark on the lorry that will polish out!!
Guy who's car I reversed into was a right pillock... first thing I said to him was that I was really sorry and that I was fully insured so will all be ok - once he saw the damage and started asking for details etc he got all uppity with me "You are insured I take it?" stopped myself from saying "Yes, you tw*t did you not listen to me a minute a go?" - anway turns out its a company car anyway so hopefully things will all be ok.
Just hope that will be the end of my car nightmares for a while!!
