First car - Want to bless me with some advice/tips?

If you're being given it, take it.
For a first car it's a bit of a joke, but it depends on what you've driven in the past.

200,000 Miles is a lot as well.. Is the engine and gearbox still OK?

I started this thread, about 6 years ago. The golf turned into a golf into a Rover 75 into a Porsche 924s into a VW Passat. That's how old this thread is.

How big is the contingency fund for this new car? The XC90 isn't going to be a cheap car to run, and has some expensive foibles....

Thanks all you guys... My iPad wouldn't let me log in... But yeah...
The XC90 would be a bit of a project for my gap year. My dad is very good with diesels as he grew up on a farm and had to service tractors. But yeah, the transmissions ok but the engine has a minor oil leak.
