I went to elephant.co.uk just because they had an instant on-line quote thing.

I'll make sure I get quotes from CIS, Endsleigh and everyone else beofre I decide on who to go for. Can you haggle with them? For example, if I said "The best quote I've got so far is _____, can you bet it?", would they try or just quote a standard rate?

They'll always beat it pal. They put a HUUUGE markup on every policy they sell, and they really want your custom they'll drop the price. Trust me it works. I went back and forth between 2 companies once for the bike, and they were literally fighting over me, cos I wouldn't say who had given me the lower quote. Every time they beat it, I'd knock 20 quid off it and ring up the first company again

Endsleigh were pretty awful. They've got a branch on Campus, popped in for a quote and they wanted £2100 for my car. Pathetic - I pay just £1160 currently.
