Lost my keys..

So I lost my keys today

Luckily I have a spare key for it, but I would like to geta new 'spare'.

The car is a 1999 Vuaxhall Astra, its one of those coded remote locking jobbies, does anybody have any ideas on the best way to go about obtaining this?

Your local stealership should be able to help you, although it won't be cheap

My guestimate would be nearer £50, but that's a lot cheaper than losing both keys and having to have the lock re-synced with a new master.

I found that site, but it does say at the top 'trade only'. I might try and blag it if there is no alternative.

Vauxhall dealers dont charge much for keys anymore.

The blade is one part, probably cut while you wait, and the remote then slips into it. Then the technician has to code your key to the cars immobiliser.

Should be no more than £85 inc vat.

BUT you need your SECURITY CODE and your KEY CODE.

If you dont have them, you'll be charged a further amount (£18) for them applying to the factory for ther codes.

the security code is what they'll use to access your immobiliser.

VAG used to do this with their cars, but saw how this was being worked around and decided to stop issuing the codes, if you need a new key with them now, you have two options, DIY or cough up to the dealer, as it's all done by remote on computer now.

I'm fairly sure I'd be able to sort you out with this, but I'd need some model details (no chassis/reg details), whereabouts do you live mate?
