Looks like a good buy, but bloody hell give it a clean! And get some new plates, they look nasty! don't use screws to hold the new ones on

I drove a new Focus TDCI I think was the 1.8 115bhp yesterday, confirms my dislike for diesels Lol but yours looks like a bargain

In what way your dislike? Having driven both 1.6 and 2.0 Petrol Foci I can say this is so much better on the road it's unreal, and the new one is either 1.6 or 2.0 and not 115bhp!

Sorry, missed your private plates bit! Don't get some illegal ones, they look daft Just get some nice smart new style ones with the Blue EU flag section etc.

I disliked it because it was quite a "lumpy" power delivery, and it wasn't as fast as it feels.. That's the thing with them, the power delivery shove makes them feel fast but you look at the dials and realise you're not moving as fast as it feels It was also no "fun" whatsoever to rev/make progress etc, so I just found myself driving sedately to save fuel It did have quite a bit of midrange grunt for motorway overtaking but nothing that most =>2L petrol engines can't manage

It wasn't brand new, 57 plate so pre-facelift, it was probably the 115 1.8 as it wasn't quite dog slow enough to be the 90bhp 1.6!

But other than the engine, it was a very good car, way nicer than the horrible Golf I had a few weeks ago.. Was so glad to get back into my car which felt so much quicker... It didn't feel quite as much quicker than the Focus this time but the engine is a great deal smoother

Re: Focus - TDDi or TDCi?

Fair enough each to their own, I find Petrols horrid to drive as I always feel like your chasing the power through the gears!

They won't be illigal, just not 100% legal Basic background will be these (shown with my old plate on)

The 1.8 TDCi is known to be rattly and 'orrible, which is why Ford finally dropped it. The 1.6 and 2.0 are apparently much better engines.

Actually, it's the Diesel you have to run through the gears on to chase the power as it's in a smaller band.

It's the petrol that you need to shift to increase torque.... if you've got some wet petrol engine that is

£2450 mate was advertised for £2850. If you're willing to take a high mileage, probably Ex-fleet car like mine is, then you can get a real bargain. Make sure you ask if it's a 100 or a 115 though, I drove a 100 the other day and it feels like more than 15bhp difference.

And schmunk, no worries bud, but have had all sorts of Dervs from Audi's to Land Rovers, this is the quietest yet.
