    Smart car

I got in mine on Saturday and started it up and it flashed up a message on the display that read "Left side light bulb failure!", which I was mightily impressed by. I'd have never have spotted a side light out otherwise cos they're so dim (and I usually drive with dip anyway).

This car is getting a bit too clever... like bleeping at me each time I start the engine if it's nearly out of petrol - it's like a hungry child, doesn't stop complaining until you feed it again

Its not quite the same message as what i get when one of my bulbs has gone, i get these annoying blue flashing lights in my rear view mirror, and the warning as im gonna run outta petrol is a kinda spluttery feel comin from the engine quickly followed by me stopping

that doesn't count, that's a smart roadster, not a smart car.

    distinct difference

Ah but what about the bi-turbo V6 Brabus Smart Roadster? Now that's a machine I'd be proud to own.

I'd be more than happy with 6 seconds... hell I'm pretty happy with 10!

It's not all about 0-60 you know, they are fine handling machines that are very good fun to drive, going by what most writers have to say.

Ive caned a Smart Roadster round cardiff - it was the most fun ive had in a car thus far with my pants on.

The look on some bad boy racer corsa sri guys face as i efforlesly flew past him up a sliproad onto the m4 was just comical. Make no mistake - the smart roaster handles like a lotus elise - your ass scrapes the floor, theres zero body roll, and massive grip that just doesnt let go - no understeer whatsoever. Neutral. But Press the traction control off button - and you can light the rear tyres up if you push hard, especially in the wet, hence sidey sidey opposite lock fun.. I love it - it just happened to be £3k overpriced otherwise i woulda bought one there and then.

Hair dresser car? No, not really, your saying that just because its small, low and convertible. Its a mans car, it drives like a mans car, and its the most fun your gonna have this side of a lotus elise or a vx220.

Slow - it may be in a straight line, but once you hit an unstraight road, you suddenly forget its 0-60 time and just get a huge grin that dont go away. its like a mini - it feels faster than it is coz its small and your ass is skreping the tarmac.

Oh and its a 700CC Turbo by the way - they can develop anything from 70 to 120 BHP depending on your lefel of tune. Take a testdrive in one 5lab - and then slate it.

Hell if a Smart is good enough for Sterling Moss.. also damned handy if you live in a big city. I'm hankering after a nice new Mini Cooper though

the biggest surprise when my sisters did this (147 2.0 Selespeed Lusso) was the fact that Alfa electronics had got so clever they could now tell their left from right LOL (Dad had three 164's one after the other cos the comapny was paying the bills, back in those days owning and alfa was an expensive love lol)

I'm annoyed by the number of women driving 147's... only 1 in 5 I see actually has a bloke driving it. My mates keep digging me for buying a womans car

If driving a 147 makes me a woman then bring me a bra and a mini-skirt and let's partay
