    Thumbs down Supermarket Carparks

It was only a matter of time, but after I get back to the car with the weekly shop and the kids, I spy that some ...swine... has run their bumper down the rear passenger door and wing. No note, out of sight of any camera and just SO Damned Annoying!!!

It's not so much that i'm precious about the car, after all it's only an old Preg V6 mondy with 105k on the clock, but I like it, its a grin to drive, and it 'was' in extreemly good nic for its age.

On the whole tho supermarket carparks are lethal, trolley scrapes and door bumps. Grrr

No other point to this post apart from a rant i'm afraid.

    Re: Supermarket Carparks

I know how you feel there mate, 5 years ago some tool drove into my first car (Mk2 Golf) and left a really nasty crease and scratch on the rear drivers side quater panel, no note. All I saw when I came out of the supermarket were bits of my car all over the car park, I was gutted. The car wasn't really worth anything, but it was my first car and it wasn't in bad nick till whoever did that to it.

On the way home from work that day I bought a Nissan Bluebord for £250 lol and sold the golf to a mate for £300 lol

    Re: Supermarket Carparks

I feel your pain 0iD. Nothing as major as yours but my ar is covered in door dings and what not from supermarkt carparks. it's why I shop at weird hours or part a good distance from the shop. Even the latter has it's problems in that in a virtually empty car park with a hundred or so empty spaces (I exaggerate not, those who have been to Serpentine Green Tescos in Peterborough will know how large that car park is) someone STILL parts next to me.

    Re: Supermarket Carparks

This is why i would never take a nice car to the supermarket. Last time it happened to me i was walking back to my car watching a woman trying to park a Pug 307 (iirc) next to it. She went backwards and forwards several times before eventually leaving a lovely scrape of silver paint down my quarterpanel...i got up close, she rolled down the window, exclaimed how these spaces are smaller than they seem and promptly drove off...makes me glad i drive an old snotter...

    ouch thats harsh.

it doesn't matter if your car is a total shed (not saying it is , just talking in general).. it's still your car, your way of getting around.. i wish people would atleast have the decency to hold their hands up and leave a note, yeah you'd still be annoyed but atleast they havn't just left you to discover it and think 'oh ffs not again'.

Thats half the trouble, they'd rather not face up to what they've done and walk away from the problem. It's far easier to walk away and pretend nothing has happened than take ownership for your misstakes.

I know I tapped some guys X Type Jag a few weeks ago in works car park, I got out and there was no damage done to his car thankfully, it really was such a gentle tap, but when I looked at my back bumper I could see that I'd rubbed some of the laquer off my car, and the JAg was unscaved.

Had it been the other way round and I'd hurt his car I'd have waited for him to have come out of the store and apologised.

    That is always so annoying.

Just like when youngsters key cars, just cos they don't realise what it's like to own something of any value!

    Re: Supermarket Carparks

I've had my foot ran over once on the walk from Scan to Adsa over the car-park.

Luckily, it didn't break anything but the idiot behind the wheel gave me abuse over it, but it was his fault as he was driving while on a mobile and was all over the place and going down the 1 way system the WRONG WAY.

No one seems to pay attention to the way arrows point in supermarkets. Then you get all these strange looks as if you are in the wrong.

I had something similiar happen to me. I was snacking in my car after shopping (like you do ), and someone clipped my towbar (which I had on my Prelude!). Bent the electrical sockets. Went to track him down when he had parked and I just got a "Sorry, didn't see the towbar". Pillock.
