    Question about cherrished plates

I was thinking the other day on how very much I'd like to have the registration number of my first car on my current car. I know it sounds pretty daft but I loved the plate that first car had. I know it's possible as I've seen such plates on much newer cars.

Hows it done and whats the cost if anything ?

I know the car is no longer on the road, I suspect it's been scrapped as it was last taxed in 2006 according to the DVLA.

    Re: Question about cherrished plates

chance is the reg numbers back in the pool if the cars scrapped, unless the scrapper has sold it or been paying to keep it out the reg pool

you can google reg numbers and see if its up for sale, or even visit the DVLA and enquire, a couple of years ago it was about £70 to swap a reg plate (per car)

i would start with the DVLA and google
