It's got a cross-plane crank, and so it sounds like a V8. I didn't think that was how it would work, but I'm extraordinarly glad that it does.

I could just about scrape together the money for an R1 (and of course the Akropovic pipes that you'd need ) next year. It's going to be hard to get that noise out of my head.

Still undecided on what I want as my next ride. Can't decide if I'm going to stick with the sports-touring style or go for something else.

I wish I had the room for both, then I'd keep my ER-5 and just get another bigger bike
