yup, trust your gps, might be a second or so behind when ur accelerating very fast (not as coco does that often ) but it will give you a better true indication of ur speed.

XTR, they look ok - time to try em on the car and see if they're bent!

Zak - here's that pic for you. Couldn't find a bigger one, but you'll get the idea:

    EDIT:

    http://www.csgnetwork.com/speedocalibcalc.html

When the vehicle speedometer indicates 60mph the vehicle speed is actually 59.28358208955223

The general rule of thumb is that if you go up 10 on the width, you come down 5 on the profile. If you go up a rim size, you come down on a profile.

So.... if you're on 185/60/15 at the mo, 205/40/17 will have roughly the same rolling radius.

Bought them.... few scuffs... nowt serious... wouldn't mind some new centre caps for them.. as a couple of them are a bit corroded.. managed to knock him down to £290. Fair deal

I'll get the tyres sorted tomorrow and put them on the car

    Should look rather spanking!!!

Did your insurance increase much putting 17's on, I ask because I asked around before getting mine and loads of the big insurers will only let you go up to 1.5" larger than the wheels the car had at new ?!?!? To which I asked if they could tell me who made 15.5" wheels and tyres !

He isn't increasing the rolling radius of his tyres, although you should ALWAYS inform your insurance company when modifying your car.

On these 17" tyres they state "do not fit to 17.5" rims"

so they must do half inch sizes.
