Nice way to throw away a couple of grand in one year though... New cars depreciate terribly even after driving them straight off the forecourt.

I would've gone for a 2 year old car that was a few grand cheaper, got my own insurance and would've had a car that wasn't gonna depreciate so fast.

true but insurance would be about £1200 anyway and he wont need to get an MOT etc

Maybe, still think brand new cars are a total rip-off though.

Nice choice though, not a bad car.

one important word you get with brand new cars... warranty If it breaks - go back and tell em to fix it. Apart from making you feel rich - "just do anything it needs to make it work again" it gives one peace of mind - knowing that if it aint right, you can take it back again until it is.

and the insurance is worthy.......for Russ and up to 3 others....thats worth £1300 or more.

New tyres, new brake pads, new wiper baldes...it all adds up....plus the first years AA cover is the highest version available.....£138 value...

first service is only about £100 all in....

so when it boils down to it...for a new driver...with no previous insurance experience, the new car route is actually good value.
