But I suppose its not about looks, its about making the car go as fast as possible while abiding by the rules and regs.
does it really matter how the car looks like ? As long as it goes fast and win races i'm sure they can forgive the fugly wing design. Perhaps theres a confusion among the people working with its aerodynamics

i would guess this is a Proto, I would put my backside on it that the 2009 car is not the same.

Correct. It's a 2009 front and rear wing on a 2008 car.
That said they are still going to look a bit weird.
I'm all for getting rid of much of the aero, but surely one wide wing at the back would do the same job.
I think there is going to be some strange winners in early 2009 due to all the different changes. Some teams will do a better job than others more through luck than good judgement.
Anything that makes it more exciting the better....
