    Re: Australian Grand Prix

I'm liking the BBC coverage so far. A glitch with the feed during qually and the commentators were interrupting each other a bit but I'm sure all this will get ironed out. Some good banter between DC and EJ as well

Not a good weekend for louis so far.

    Re: Australian Grand Prix

Both Toyotas moved to the back for having flexible rear wings. Williams have protested against the Red Bull and Ferrari cars, apparently for the same reason.

Weight of the cars indicate the Brawn cars are carrying a good 3-5 laps more fuel than those around them (other than Webber, who's got similar fuel... if his time is allowed to stay).

    Who ?

Has he moved from judging things like the X-Factor and stuff into F1 ?

F1 is starting to look good again as there are no teams this year with any real advantages. Button is driving excellently and thank god it's back on the BBC as the coverage on ITV was shocking at times, especially when they used to cut to breaks and carnage followed.

This has certainly mixed it up. Lets hope the Brawns etc.. are found to be legal and can continue the season with the current barn stormers.

    Re: Australian Grand Prix

Stayed up to watch the qualifying, crashed to sleep, just woke up

That was quite exciting as it wasn't as expected with exception of the Brawn GP (and to a lesser extent the Mclarens being quite bad). Coverage by the BBC is quite good and so nice not having any commercial breaks

Poor Branson!! Agrees to an interview with the BBC only to have EJ ranting at him for not sponsoring his team.

Did you see that bit live or on repeat? apparently it was pretty funny, especially when Branson got told off for swearing.

If any of you read my JB/honda post a few weeks ago we all thought the test times were a one off, but judging by a poll and 2nd place position on the grid this morning I think Brawn has pulled of one hell of a story.... just hope it's not turned on it's head by an outlaw to their defuser design!

Well it seems to be going their way at the moment but there is always the Ferrari's International Assistance to contend with.

    Re: Australian Grand Prix

Actually, talking of swearing, I've just seen the post qualy-interview

Q: (Dan Knutson – National Speed Sport News) I have already asked Jenson this question in Thursday’s press conference, so this is to Rubens and Sebastian. With all the rule changes this year, do you think we will see more overtaking, not only in tomorrow’s race but throughout the season?

RB: I think so, I think that there are some teams with KERS and some others without it, so you’re going to see some overtaking because of that. You might see more overtaking on a proper track, you will see overtaking on this road circuit but it’s because of people making mistakes. You always do see overtaking here in Melbourne anyway, with the visibility being a problem and so on, I think the race is going to be quite a good one. Plus, the wings help. They don’t fix the problem but the moveable wings help, so that could help overtaking too.

SV: I know I’m small but I was also in Thursday’s press conference, next to Jenson!

RB: That was the best answer so far!

SV: You’d better be quiet, you’re even smaller!

RB: No, no, you’re answer was the best answer so far. – I gave him a compliment – f***g Germans! (laughter)
