Aussie mayor offends ugly bintsThe mayor of a remote Australian mining town has come under fire after saying that female "ugly ducklings" might benefit from its shortage of women.
John Molony told a newspaper last week that "with five blokes to every girl, may I suggest that beauty-disadvantaged women should proceed to Mount Isa".
The council has since been swamped with complaints from both men and women.
The weird thing is that he was forthright enough to say what he said "We have too many men and too few women, ugly girls coming here will get laid" to paraphrase, but he used the phrase "beauty-disadvantaged". WTF?
That's only millimetres from "Pulchritudinally challenged" in terms of mealy-mouthedness. Still, I guess his heart is in the right place; he was just being frank about the issue.
