I've been through all the normal routes comparison sites etc etc
But my quotes are not much less than last year and now I have got the magic 1 years driving experience and 1 year NCB.
Can anybody suggest good companies for young drivers?

Oddly, Tesco.
Were rather good for me - I had 3 years bike NCB and had bought a Honda Civic 2.2CDTi and they produced the best price. 20 at the time too

Elephant have always been the best for me and I haven't been insuring easy cars for my age. If your parents have a decent driving record add them as named drivers, this dropped my quote by pretty much a few hundred quid.
Also pay at once if you can, they add ALOT if you select to pay monthly.

Will try them now thanks!
Good luck, let me know how it goes.
Elephant were really expensive like £600 more expensive than my best quote
Tesco were £300 more expensive and there ''Value'' cover £200 more
My best quote was with Adrian Flux, does anybody know of any other companies like that who I could try?
Thanks!
Zurich Connect?
Oh, and how old are you? What car is it, and are you a member of any car clubs?
Hmm, didn't expect that. Postcode lottery I suppose.
Try Liverpool Victoria or Swift
Hmm, Chris Knott may be able to help you - but they give their very best deals to car club/enthusiast club members. Minimum age on most of their schemes (to keep costs down) is 22, with a years experience driving the type of car.
It is who I went with for the Honda this year
Swiftcover?
Have you bothered to use ALL the comparison sites? They use different companies and brokers so you need to use all of them to get as many deals as possible
Hi PetrolHead,
Yeah I hate this pricey insurance for Young Drivers, I was in a similar situation to you a few years back (I'm 23, started driving at 20) but I managed to get a good(!) deal with the AA for my first year as I had done my Learner Driving with them and also passed the Pass Plus course. Have you had a look at Pass Plus? Might be worth a go.
The AA insured me for my first year (£1400), I then moved to Zurich (weren't called Zurich Connect when I went to them first) and got a slightly better deal with 1 years NCD (£1100). As others have mentioned it might be worth trying Chris Knott.
I know that you haven't had much luck finding an Owners club (EDIT, found these chaps http://www.hyundaiownersclub.co.uk/) but it might be worth going through them and asking what sort of offers they have available for members. I'm with the Volvo Owners Club and I have seen some good discounts being offered by Chris Knott, I haven't tried them (him?!) yet but I'll give him a ring when my insurance comes up for renewal.
One thing you could also try is seeing if you could get a better deal by adding in you parents. I found that it pushed the price up by having both mum and dad on my cover but with only mum on there the price came down by about £100!
There are some insurance places which offer the ability to put the car in the parents name and just add you to the policy but I wouldn't suggest going this route as it is a bit of a "Grey" area and it could invalidate any NCD you (had) built up for the duration fo the policy.
Let us know how you get on,
Cheers,
Harv
