Basically get in touch with your local group listed on the website who will be able to help you out.
You pay £85 for your test entrance, a year's membership with the group and a book "Pass you advanced test" if you're under 25 you get about £10 off
All the guidance sessions are free as they're conducted by volunteers who have done the advanced test and then an observers test. You do everything in your own car - so you don't have to worry about getting used to a driving school corsa
I don't know how much it reduces the insurance by as I lease my car with inclusive insurance. IAM have their own insurance broker who do preferable rates to members, but when I phoned them up about my roadster they said that they only tend to be better for family saloons and the like, some other insurers accept it as well though so worth shopping around.
Just noticed your in my region, I'll see if I can scrape some telephone numbers together (I'll PM you tomorrow) - would you be looking at doing anything in Cardiff or Bristol??Originally Posted by ab1385
Congratulations mate, the 306 you've got is a great little first car, i actually learnt in one almost identical to that, although you might want to fix that number plate, it'll never pass an MOT like that
how much is it to take a pass plus these days? i was too nervous to take it after i passed my test (i got 14 minors on my test because my nerves got the better of me, still passed though) but i am tempted myself now that i think about how much insurance i'd save.
Pass plus for me was 6 hours worth of lesson fees. So around 90 quid.
