Front brakes overheating on Hyundai Accent

Hi, I need some advice please.

2 months ago I had new front brake pads fitted by a local garage on my Hyundai Accent. All seemed fine on my usual short journeys, 10 mins drive to work and around town to the shops runs etc, but as soon as I used the car on the few occasions I am driving for longer than 20 mins, especially driving down long hills where using the brakes more than normal etc, I noticed the front brakes begin to squeak randomly while driving.

On further inspection it has become apparent they are massively overheating. So much so that on longer journeys going down hill etc the wheel rim gets red-hot and has actually singed the hubcaps! having checked them since (before I hear the squealing) even after 10 mins driving to work the rims are getting pretty hot. And after 2 months the brake pads are now half-worn.

Have had the calipers looked at and have been told they are not sticking so don't think it's that. Is it likely to be that the garage have fitted cheap defective pads that are overheating causing the problem, or could there be other causes?

I'd still be suspicious of sticky calipers. One of mine was sticking a few months ago and was told several times by the garage that it was fine. Ended up just getting it replaced with a refurbed one and it stopped!

Mine didn't always squeal though. Would drive the car 80 miles a day 5 days a week and only one of those days it would squeak, and maybe only for 20 minutes at a time.. I think it just got stuck now and again then freed it self..
