"Free speech includes not only the inoffensive but the irritating, the contentious, the eccentric, the heretical, the unwelcome and the provocative provided it does not tend to provoke violence. Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having."
I know I'm digging up a slightly old post, but here's what I've done for years...
I have the luxury of a drive to park on, so I installed an outside mains socket on the wall behind the car. When I get home I plug in a mains lead that's in the boot, connected to a small greenhouse fan heater inside the car, on a timer. It turns on at 5am and by the time I'm getting into the car it's toasty and defrosted. Before I had a drive I've done similar by just plugging it in when I got up in the morning as long as the car was parking in front of the house.
I just need to remember to unplug it before I drive off and rip the socket off the wall, but I've not forgotten yet...
I started this some time ago when I got fed up of having to get up half an hour earlier to shovel the snow off the car and defrost it.
