£14k gets you a Hyundai i800 with a lot of warranty left. Or maybe an older Merc Viano or Ford Tourneo.
Otherwise just get a 7 seater like a Galaxy (the latest ones are excellent and no longer related to the Sharan/Alhambra) and take one of the rear seats out to make space for the dogs?

We've been discussing this a lot over the last few days, and really, the only answer is a VW Transporter.
People carriers just won't cut it, they either have just enough space for four kids and dogs, meaning any shopping or luggage has to be packed round people or housed in a roof box, or they don't have enough room for the dogs at all.
With a correctly configured transporter, we can get six adults (good for when they get a bit older) the two dogs and still have room for shopping, luggage or anything else we want to have in there at the same time.
We've had a better look around online, and you can get a Transporter to suite any budget really, it just depends on spec and how old/how many miles it has.
I still reckon you should drive an i800 before you buy a Transporter. You'll get a much newer one for the same money.
My wife won't drive an i800.

I have Voyager Raving nail but so comfy. Heated leather seats, armrests, cruise control. The side doors slide which is a great thing when parking in tight spots. Kinda expensive to run though

Like Tig said the Caravelle would be a good choice, my friends dad runs one and there are acres of space in the back, and at least with his it has a lovely interior (he is a taxi driver running people to and from airports)
