9k ago? Time for a service again if you ask me - only a change of filters/oil though - not a full on plugs, dizzy etc. My Clio would of had 2 oil changes at least in 9k, if not 3!

They look fantastic in black, but 19" alloys? Either that's a mistake or it's had some work done to it to fit them, because 18" is the biggest you can fit without rubbing. But even 18" looks a bit too big, especially on standard suspension.

Important thing to think about is warrenty. If it has the 3 year then that's ok because it should still be covered. However if not, any repair bills WILL be expensive. The Selespeed gearbox has had a few software updates to cure problems, such as randomly dropping to neutral so make sure they've all been done. A full dealer service history is a MUST.

Also it should have had a cam belt change at the 36k service. This was originally meant to happen at 70k but they will not last that long. Also, any diesel sounding noise when cold starting can be atributed to the cam variator which can usually be changed under warrenty, but is best done when changing the cambelt and tensioner.

What's the insurance costing you, if you don't mind me asking
HMmm maybe they were 18"'s I am not sure, I am only gonna get it froma Alfa dealer though, so I will be ahggling for some sort of short term coverage on parts.

Insurance, well 25 at the mo, living in CV6 means I pay £460 on my clio, price quote in same area for an Alfa 2.0 Selespeed, £630, to me, I know which I would rather have

This clio is on the 18,000 miles scheduled service interval, its what applies to all Clios bought new after October 2000.

i phoned them up the other day abotu something else and they said they don;t even do the safety checks at the 9,000 miles intervals that they have in the service books, so I dunno what to do lol.

    OMFMFMFMFG!!!!

Drive home, back box drops off, how peed am I? I was on my way to halfords as well, then I get it on the drive, I have a puncture, oh look, big shiny round thing stuck in tyre FFS!

So two tyres on order (they are an odd shape/profile) a day off work a vnoisy drive to the repair place and a big huge bill, oh might as well get them to fix the brakes and do the oil once its there tomorrow.

I can see three figures and the first one is not a 1 a 2 or a friggin 3

    How angry am I?

    VERY

Why not get the tyre repaired instead of new ones?

well the spares already got two puncture repairs in it

besides, this is the original tire that came with the car, an X plate car, so its had 45k out of it, and the rubber has started to crack on the surface, so its two new GT3's for me, will get em put on the front and the fronts on the back.....

Now leaving for the place, wish me luck lol

    No GT3's in stock

So I got two Goodyear Venturas, not bad, then I needed a whoole new exhaust, then it turns out the discs and pads are more shot than an alu mesh grill, so £306.57 later I have a working car but need to drive like a saint for the next 150 miles.....

    unlucky mate.

you still gonna do the engine oil thing?
Think i saw in the tabloids that you can get an oil change for £20 (semi sync Duckhams) from one of the larger national garages.
