Yeah, that's an order of magnitude more than I would realistically spend on a car

I will, however, jealously whenever I see one go past...

    Nonsense, this is the internet!
Everyone's got a mate with a 1000bhp car hidden in their garage.

I never said buy a touring car, I said skoda make the octavia so it comply`s to touring car rules, but having the road car percentage all in the engine

If you buy a skoda octavia, the engine is just what your get in the touring car without the vital parts that make it go 240mph during a touring car race.

If you buy a octavia cheap on ebay, your can spend £4000 putting on carbon brakes and lower suspension etc yourself, which is why its abit like europes nissan skyline in street racing and fast and the furious

And those parts cost how much? Could there be a reason touring cars cost £100,000?

That still won't make it go any faster

Might make it slide off into a ditch faster if it is "slammed to the ground" by someone who simply *thinks* they know how suspension works

That budget wouldn't even cover the brake discs let alone anything else.

Besides, massive overkill to say the least.

    Re: Car suggestions

If I wanted to modify a car (which I don't, my insurance is high enough already), I'm not sure an Octavia would be my ideal starting point. Something lighter with a better chassis would appeal more. Or you know, an actual skyline.

    Re: Car suggestions

Don't get me wrong I love my Octavia, but would I want to spend proper money modifying it? Hell no! Something more suitable or sporting to say the least.

Keep the work hack/daily as intended. Does the job brilliantly.

the vrs is for sport, its the car used in touring car races, like in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB3nEkzT0MM, they are usually in the top 5 somewhere

all other octavia`s are just family cars

The touring car and the road legal vRS are pretty different cars...
