So who here has a GPS solution for their car?

I received my GPS receiver for my PocketPC today and it's fantastic!

Went for a drive earlier to a place I know, stopped, set it up, ensured it has a signal, and told it to navigate me "home". Worked flawlessly.

Once I get my dashboard mount for my PDA tomorrow hopefully, I'm all set

Even told me how fast I was going. Dunno how accurate it is, but if it is, my speedo is a bit fast. Lol

Yep have on here, love it makes going places a lot easier. One thing to note is that the maps are not 100% accurate, I tend to use it as a reminder to check the road signs. For most software you can download points of interest (POI's), coupled with a warning system it will warn you before you reach the POI (bank, mcdonalds, speedcamera, etc). These databases and poi warning system are often free to download. see below for details

I have a laptop and GPS, still playing around with the different softwares. Copilot Live seems to be the best...

them pioneers are well nice, but there a bit bulky i think - i saw them in halfrauds and there really overpriced too, not worth it, but look snazzy

Bulky how? It's a single Din headunit, the screen is motorised and goes inside, I'm not quite sure how it's bulky. It also does a lot more than just SatNav, and thankfully, is 99% accurate.

Yeah it practically drives the thing for me

Tells me to keep left at lights, keep left/right at roundabouts, even told me to make a U turn back into my road after I went out this morning having mistakenly left it navigating home

Raz: No I didn't I kept driving ignoring the commands actually to see how quickly it re-routed me. It's fantastic. I highly recommend it. Do you have a PDA?

howard: nah I dont And if im totally realistic I dont drive to unknown places enough for it to be worth it. Still something that'd be cool to have if I could get it for peanuts!

Yeah it's kind of a toy for me too. But it's fantastic. And I do have a terrible sense of direction so if I do need to go somewhere new it'll be invaluable
