Got a fun day ahead tomorrow; 3k is up so new engine oil is needed, and I've done about 8k on the current gearbox oil which is of an unknown quality, so that's getting renewed too with Honda MTF. Can't say I've had any issues with shifting, but it will make me feel happier (not to mention the synchro rings)! Also need to check the plugs and double check I've got some brake pads left.
I was quite surprised to read in the Honda workshop manual that normal 10w30-40 engine oil can be used in the gearbox... anyone ever used normal engine oil as a substitute for normal gear oil/MTF? The Honda MTF is costing me about £7 per litre which is quite a bit more costly than Castrol engine oil
Anyway, hopefully it will all run that little extra bit more smoothly afterwards
