Lo drivers and riders
At last... SNOW
My missus and I did 200+ miles yesterday cross country from Shropshire through Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Oxon etc to Berkshire and then up to Bucks. Never touched a motorway, only used a dual carriageway for 10 miles, and used a lot of A and B roads thick with the good stuff.
Subaru Forester... utterly utterly awesome. In every way. Almost boring tbh.
The only major issue with having a proper car for this weather... no one else does ;-) .
Joking apart, the Audi quattro brigade were struggling on the summer tyres everywhere, and as I proved this morning.....

Best advice for Snow driving? If you're really scared, just don't do it. Nothin worse than the 2 mile hold up caused by the one terrified Nissan Duke driver this am, knuckles whiter than the snow around, grimace of terror, sat further forward than at any point in their driving history, body literally shivering with fright, doing 5mpm down a gritted dual carriageway as each car had to overtake on the clear sections. No matter how imortant the journey, it's not worth that level of horror. And you're not safe.
For the rest of you please be careful, but mildly confident. Slow wins, but not at a crawl when the tarmac is visible and it's just wet slush 10 feet to the side.
