    Without knowing the mileage and condition (and not knowing too much about vw's) it's difficult to say but for 1,400quid it'd have to be in top nick imho.

    Just had a looky on autotrader;

    1992 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 1.8 GL 5DR,
    1992, K reg. 135000 miles, dark blue, electric sunroof, pas, e/windows, c/locking, stereo, fsh from new, MoT June 2004. £895 . ono.
    Mini!!!!!

    My Clio's a '93 K, done almost 105k miles so anything around there's about right really.

    Golf's are over rated though imo.

    107k on a '92 car aint nothin to be worried about..

    with cars of that age its all down to the service history and their condition..

    sure anyone can find a car for less than your gonna buy one for, as sdp proved (no offence m8)... but if your looking for a 10 year old car, you can pay anything from £500 to £2k..

    'specially with VW's, they tend to hold their value sooo much more than makes..

    but have a look around autotrader yourself m8e.. you may well find a better car for that sort of money...

    the one problem with vw's is they hold there price very very well
    which is good if you own one not so good if you are wanting to own one
    does sound slightly high to me but have a look on parkers car price guide
