    Mustang insurance group

I was wondering what insurance group would a old Mustang be in? Somethling like a 1966 Mustang- I know this maybe a bit broad but just wanted to know roughly.

Also is there a site where I can look up insurance groups for american cars for the UK?

    Thanks.

I think it'd be a speciality case. Insurance groups only really work on non-imports and non-supercars.

e.g. an escrot cossie is group 20, as is a mclearen f1

if you are gonna drive it for 6000 miles a year or less you can put any car over 25yrs old on classic insurance. Other than that it depends on the company, probably better looking for a few companies that deal with older cars.

    Midtz,
As has been mentioned these are usually covered by dedicated schemes, and are valued on their worth etc and not on groupings.
At 17/18 though you will have problems trying to find someone to conver you though - although it can be done.
Would be worthwhile joing something like the NSRA/NASC and using thier insurance scheme.
Just to give you an idea, a mate insured a road legal drag car with 600bhp and N2O for just a touch over £200 (albeit he is 32), im a named driver on a very old truck thats been modified from std for <£200 - both on limited mileages though

Thanks Eazieb for the tips. I knew it was gonna be hard to get insurance at my age but I just wanna get something different and a car that I realy love.

Just wondering what does NASC stand for?

You could try www.lancaster-ins.co.uk - I recently got a cheap quote for a '92 Elan Turbo on classic insurance (despite it only being 13 years old). I was limited to 20000 miles, but you can choose what the limit is although I don't know how it affects the final quote.

Could be that they only insure over 21 though
