HELP! bought a valve resurfacing machine but.....

hello very knowledgable people of immense never ending wisdom......

    need some help please.

i bought a valve resurfacing machine but forgot to chck the size of the chuck/collet and found its way too big to take standard valve (4mm, 5mm, 7mm etc). the smallest it goes down to is around 10mm.

is there a way of modifying it or can i buy another chuck for it from somewhere??????

its a very old machine made by a now defunct company in the united kingdom of britain. the company was called "wolf electrical tools limited".

    all help greatly appreciated.

    cheers

When you say valve resurfacing do you mean valve seats in the heads or err valves?

    hiya mate

its one of those machines where you take the valve from the cylinder head and insert it into a drill like chuck which swivels in order to determine what type of angle you want to cut the valve at. and then a grinding wheel recuts the valve.

its used for grinding three angled cuts onto valves.

but as it stands its useless as non of the standard valves fit

Im guessing your not UK based, but I would have thought any profficent engineering firm should be able to make some new collets up if you can provide them with details and/or the original collet - or maybe sleeve the exising oversized one?
