I reckon I can get 30-35 mpg out of mine, I hit 27mpg average on a trip half way down france last year and we really weren't being slow...
but its so boring

I can stick it in 4th at 25mph and it'll give me well over 30mpg which aint bad for round town driving, problem is when I drive to and from work its rush hour so lots of stopping and starting
Maybe I need a job where I start at 10 and finish at 7, that'd work better
I usually get about 400miles out of a £28 tank on my AX.
I think thats somewhere around 50mpg.

My MR2 does high 20s around town (usually 80-ish miles on £10 worth of petrol). Cruising at 75 it gets high 30s, and I've had over 40mpg when taking it easy. So, since the tank is 9 gallons, I could probably do about 300 miles on a full tank with a mixture of driving.
However, since I almost never do long journeys, I very rarely fill it right up as I rarely can spare the £30.
My MPG is 25 *average*
It can take me to Heahtrow airport and back to Bristol with 1/2 tank.
On the other hand, it can waste 1/2 tank within 15 hrs drive in Bristol (mainly park st., park row, clifton village, city centre....)
about 350 miles out of a £30 tank.
1.4 VW Polo
520 miles off a 60L tank (with 35 miles left from the warning light coming on)
Passat regularly gets 900 miles on 75l of diesel, commute is longish with little traffic and no motorways.
old cars are often much better on fuel than modern ones of the equivalent class and size.
Mainly because we have got heavier, safer, thicker, more solid cars, with more power ...bound to use more gas.
Vauxhall's and Peugeot are most noticeable in this....old carb run units that CAN be driven really slowly and calmly return AWESOME fuel consumption if they are driven with good forethought and brains.
And new models are just simply DIRE. Corsa 1.4 16v's (dont blush Russ) as notorious for not being very good on fuel. Not in comparison to something like an older Cavalier 2.0 8v.
Trig's Calibra has a huge tank, as does my new juggernaught Cavlier Diesel.
If i put a whole tank in this car I'd get about 600-700 miles of average driving and 800 if I was really steady with her. BUT it would cost about £60 to fill.
£30 gets me 375 miles normally.

I've never filled it tbh, £30 takes it just over half a tank....
I'm off down to Plymouth this weekend so I'll fill it up and see how much it does on the way down there, the way back wont be much of an indication as the new injectors will be on, as will the FBFMIC n I'll be pushing a touch more boost
Theres always the bit where were all probably paying different prices for fuel as well so that'll chuck a bit of variation in, £20 of SUL from Sainsburys lasts me 4 days or so usually, £10 of BPU lasted me 24hours a few weeks ago and I wasnt driving any more distance than normal....
Managed to drive from Northampton to Newquay and back on one tank of Diesel. Plus assorted trips, which came to about 650 miles
This was in my 1.5 Diesel Peugeot. Probably could have gone further as the warning light hadn't come on, but I had another long drive the following day. So I filled up the tank.
If it ain't broke, fetch a bigger hammer

most ive ever got out of a tank is probably close to 300miles in my mini flame red - which ticks over at 400rpm so sits there happily in traffic, (shame the low compression will kill the engine though) My old mayfair was a pain for petrol.. didnt get round to rolling roading it after i put the stage 1 kit on, running it you could smell the unburnt petrol in the exhaust, that thing did 1/2 a tank after 40miles or so.. hehe
new mini.. company car an all that.

Well I stuck £50 in the Cally on Friday and that didnt fill it
Did 320 miles before the trip computer started flashing 30 miles so thats not bad
Found out tho that my fuel pressure was 4 bar tho instead of 3.5 so it may have been over fueling slightly lol, would explin the popping on run down lol...
The next few days shoud be interesting tho as the FP is now down to 3 bar (standard) and I have mildly larger injectors on, 440cc as opposed to 324cc or whatever the standards are, gonna have to drive a bit varied for the ECU to learn the new injector's....
