    Croft - British Superbikes

To tie inline with me re-designing my website again (www.meangasoline.co.uk - issues with Firefox) I took a trip to Croft last Sunday to see the British Superbikes. I have been busy all week so have only processed them now, some 5 days on. Link to the gallery can be found here

    British Superbikes

    Virgin Mobile

    125 Race

Once again all were taken on my Fuji S5500 with various zoom lengths and at different distances away from the track. Really want a DSLR!!

I would definately recommend you go to Superbikes to watch, even if you are not fussed about photographing in particular...also Croft is an amazing circuit for spectators

Is it just me or is the rear tire a little flat on the 3rd bike down?

Love the photos though, makes me glad I got a S5500! Just need somewhere to try it out properly

looks a little off, but most probably either a.) couple of warm up laps to get temperature/pressure in the tyres, or at the start of turn in under spead and the tyres taking initial load
    It is Inevitable.....

You are exactly right in both guesses It was probably taken about 2 - 3 laps into their warmup and they had just come out of a fairly slow section building up to their top speed which would ~150mph or so.

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated.

    Good stuff mate

I particularly like the first one. I think you should now come up with a custom watermark instead of the writing in the bottom corner, a bit like Sutton Images has

I'd love to go and see the racing again- i saw the race at Rockingham a couple of years ago, fantastic action- far better than F1. I think it is because they are narrower, it is easier to overtake.
    that's the chicken!!!

If you want I can send you the pictures I took at croft this year, I have about 100 of them, some in the pitss, some from the padocks, even got into a few of the privateer tents to look at the bike with the chassis on and off. If you want them drop me a line

On the qualifying day I have pictures from Tower Corner, the centre island where you can see the whole course apart from the complex. Some from the chicane and a few down in the complex. Been to both superbike meetings at crift this year and last, before that croft didn't hold the race for the superbikes for 6 years previous. Its good to see croft getting the bikes back.

Are you going to the ACU club meeting there on the last weekend of the July. Its club members but you have races all day as you have the 125's the 250's that race in the 400 class, then you have the 1300 open class. It's £10 for the weekend and if you thought the superbike racers were fast wait till you see the 1300 open class bikes, anything goes on the bike front. The side cars are a good race to, namely an excuse for me and my uncle to tout for sponsorship as we are trying to get a sidecar team on the go, we have the bike just need sponsorship to get to the races.

Also Tom are you going to the touring cars at Croft on the 17th and 18th of July I think the weekend lands on. If so could meet up for a beer at the bar on wheels waggon down near tower corner
