    Another cat dead.

    Not mine, next door neighbours.

2 cars came down our road having their own private little race, mowed the next door neigbours cat over, and carried on. I heard it, sounded like a tyre popping - another dead moggy lying on the road - same place as our cat Maggie when she was killed by a hit+ run driver last year.

I really can't describe the anger I feel at the bloody idiots that treat 30mph residential roads like their own private racetrack.

Over the last few months I've felt increasingly tired an weary of driving in general, I'm sick to death of our roads and the idiots I encounter on a daily basis, I can see myself trading my car in for something barely capable of a ton, just a cheap A-B job, thats all. I don't want to be associated wth our roads and the people that use them any longer, I'd own a car out of sheer necessity because their is sure as hell no enjoyment in driving anymore.

I'm babbling, and I'm bloody furious. Dreadfully bloody furious.

I sympathise for you. My road too has become the local Nurburg for crappy modded chav cars. If only I was allowed to build a speed bump, the amount of morons caught unawares who destroy their cars would be very pleasing.

The roads are turning into death traps rapidly. It takes the fun out of driving like Skii said, you've gotta be constantly on your watch for A) hazards like animals, people etc and B) other cretinous drivers

I instinctively break/slow down when I see something infront of me... When I was with my dad, he was driving and we hit a deer, my feet instinctively tried to slam on the brakes... In the passenger seat. Lol

Pyle.... That's terrible. That must have been like a huge cold feeling over everyone

There are far too many idiots on the roads. People just get far too careless and believe that "oh it won't happen to me"... But it does

I would go absolutely spare if it happened to our cats - those cars... well i'd probably end up in jail. I am getting pretty sick and tired of it all too - portsmouth is going that way too - the only saving grace is the street I live in has some very nasty potholes, and a ridiculously long part with no passing places - gets avoided.

    atleast i'm moving

I can only assume you didn't get the number plates

Makes no difference anyway unless you could somehow get irrefutable proof they were speeding. There's no legal obligation to stop if you hit a cat- only if you hit a dog.

Can I suggest that if you all feel this stongly about the way the roads (and policing thereof etc.) are going in this country that you write to your MP about it? It's pretty easy:

    http://www.faxyourmp.com/index.php3

If enough people make their disquiet known to their MPs then they may well take an interest. I'd do it myself were I not more keen to make a fuss about ID cards.

What we need is blueprints for a 'Make your own stinger' kit....

I'm sure with a few bits of shelving uprights and some 4 inch nails something could be knocked up...

I can provide a step by step guide if you like.

    Apparatus required:

    One small piece of plywood
Several nails, at least 4 inches in length

    1) Hammer nails through plywood in a pattern like so :::::::::: , angled slightly to one side

    2) Sit by roadside, wait for the incessant loud exhaust and thumping, often distorted bass emanating from the chavmobile.

    3) Place stinger in the road

    4) Watch, laugh, mock, then run.

    Or secondary method.

Small EMP next to the road, set it off when cars are close.

Watch several hundred pounds worth of speakers overload and go bang.

I'm glad I live in a cul-de-sac, although there is a service road which runs at the end, you can't get through the bollards (well you can just about squeeze a car through) doesn't stop idiots on their 1cc motobikes racing around the place though.

The police here call them Stingers, hence the discussion.

Nah, caltrops are the sort of things James Bond drops out the back of the car, little spiked pyramid things that always land with a point up

Stingers are the sheets with spikes on that the police use across an entire lane of the road.

Caltrops would work a treat, I guess if they are speeding though and you deflate their tyres their rather pants driving abilities would be put to the test, and then they might just take out your car or something.
