    Petrol Prices

Is it me or has petrol gone mad again. Typical, after the election it came down a bit, now I see prices ranging from 83.9 (my local shell thank goodness, or 89.9 for Optimax) to 92.9 for regular unleaded, mind you was a motorway service station, more commony I see 85.9 for regular. Its just crazy.

Also I want to know, why is it that it differs between stations of the same brand? Why is one Shell garage 84.9, and another 86.9?

BTW, I am NEVER buying BP stuff again, its pants, less miles and doesn't give my car the oommph that Shell does. Even its Ultimate is a joke.

    Anyways, good morning everyone.

Theyre different prices depending on where they are, places that get more business, i.e motorways etc, = more expensive cos they can.

I've been travelling about this weekend, and noticed a huge change in prices dependant on where i am in the country. Paid 91.9p from a normal petrol station (total i think) (not supermarket). But i got back to reading last night and it was only 86.9p at asda. 88.9 at the total across the road.

I'm wondering if we see much more on the price of oil whether we will see £1 a litre regularly soon.

86.9p a litre at all garages around here some of the ones in town are 89.9p

I wwouldn't be suprised if this is all a ploy to make that black box pay as your drive scheme look good in the house of parliment.

For the last week or so prices settled. Until Friday we're talking:
    88.9 UL
    91.9 Diesel
    93.9 Optimax
It's been a similar story all over the place but as usual BP and Shell are the first on the price hike.

Total has been holding out better, all their garages locally sticking to 86.9 for quite sometime.

I'll be checking again later in the week methinks!

ooh, I'll keep an eye out for the 99ron stuff, speaking of which, do people run down the tank before they change petrol types, or do you mix it and swap over eventually?

If you don't have oxygen sensor(s) you could run 4 Star which is 99.7 RON. Even the old 5 Star was something like 101-102 RON.

Having said that, you'll actually get bugger all improvement in performance unless you advance your timing
