    Going through on Amber

Well I went through a set of lights that was on orange, and by the time I got to the cente of the cross road(turning point) the lights had changed to red, now I couldn't of just stopped there as it'd have inconvenienced other drivers, I noticed a Miniature Gatso camera(unpainted, and theres no painted markings on the road either), now will it have picked up on this? A fine/and or points would be no good as i've only been driving ~3-4 week.

if you'd gone through on amber then i guess you are ok, if they try to fine you tell them you were being tail-gated and it would've been dangerous to stop

Ok amber lol. There was no other cars behind, I doubt the camera has a 360 degree view anyway.

I don't think it will pick you up if the markings aren't on the road. Not sure though and if it wasn't painted its illegal afaik

But, we have things that look like speed cameras on a local railway crossing, i guess they're just safety cameras linked upto a screen somewhere. Could be the same on the crossing?

They are to catch people jumping the lights not to catch people speeding, so they don't need lines as they only take one picture. But if you went over the line on amber it's not a problem

    you'll be fine

they actually take 2 pictures to prove you were moving (ie not just stopped past the line). amber means prepare to stop, so you are perfectly entitled to carry on. i believe traffic light cams they catch the back of a car anyways, so it wont have got ya - it would only have got people coming from your left. on a box junction you are entitled to sit half-way provided you are turning right and being blocked by cars coming the other way, so, theoretically you could have been sat in the box for 30 secs waiting for the way to clear, then the lights went red, you should proceed if its safe, and make your turning.

    Youll be fine..
they are activated by induction loops under the road around the stop line, so it wouldnt have even been triggered.

he's saying that rather than using a camera to detect you, it has 2 pads on the stop line. if you drive over after red, the pads 'feel' you (like bus lane traffic lights) and get you

So if I got fully over these pads(provided there are actually some there) on amber, I wont of triggered anything?

Also isn't it illegal for Gatso's not to be coloured yellow? This one is 100% grey.

Its not illegal, basically if its yellow money goes to local police council, if its grey it has to go straight to central government. And it wont ge tyou unless you cross the line on red, but its not really best practice to enter a junction on amber either

only speed cameras have to be yellow - traffic light/lane control cameras do not have to be. the pads will only be on the lane that came from the left so you will be fine

There were no cars behind you, the light was Amber, yet you proceeded anyway?

Amber means stop, unless doing so would cause an accident. With nobody behind you this wasn't the case.

Please don't jump traffic lights, its reckless and dangerous and downright annoying for the people who get a green only to find some plank in a car who nipped through last minute still on the junction
