Not often we're gonna see a 'merkin engine come along with big BHP/displacement. They've got the wonderfull 80odd RON fuel for a start.

It is when the engine's got very little power for the capacityOriginally Posted by nameinuse

It's more than putting forced induction on.... that's adding another 12 valves!
Stock 24V varient of my engine's about 200bhp and 200 ft/lb
yeah - just reading more of that site - and have come to the conclusion that it could be a beast of an engine....wonder if I can get one fitted in the Nissan

As Lowe pointed out when I made this mistake previously, Americans measure their octane ratings differently- in fact their fuel's as good as ours. Anyway, what's wrong with the 70 BHP/Litre it's putting out? That's only 25BHP less than an Aston DB9 which is a 4 valve-per-cylinder V12- so it pretty impressive for a pushrod 16V V8 if you ask me. The Corvette Z07 has the same specific output- meaning 500BHP from a 7L small block.Originally Posted by Konan555
Cracking engine (it's the highly modified one I showed you in that Turbo Technics car) although some say the weight's a bit of a drawback at 200Kg plus.
It's a drop in conversion for me. I can get a car with one for £300 or so, plus that gives me 283mm front brakes and 273mm rears aswell as a 200bhp V6 Cosworth engine.
Couple it up with the 4x4 system and it'll pootle around quite nicely.
That's two mondeo engines welded end to endOriginally Posted by Rave
I stand corrected on the fuel then.
<3 that car
looks quite nice, the front looks slightly like a viper, and the large bonnet looks like that new mercedes (forgot what it's called).
Actually as I was surfing the wikipedia (why is it that hours just disappear on there?) to research the Cosworth 24V V6 I found this. Anyway as you say the 24V is a heavy bastard as it's basically a Cologne with much better heads. A V8 would be lighter (and should go in a 200 O.K. Moby ).Originally Posted by Konan555
I was aware they where custom built, but when you compare the two it's quite a legitimate comment to refer to it as "essentially two 3.0 L V6 units bolted together" It's obviously the starting point.Originally Posted by Rave
Great if you've got a Cologne anywayOriginally Posted by Rave
Check the Veyron with it's W16 then, that really is two engines bolted together, literallyOriginally Posted by Konan555
