imo the biggest thing that lets it down is the exhaust top pipe (think thats the corroded bit).. if you cant afford to replace it, could you maybe paint it (with heat resistant paint etc)??

No. Only carbon ones, because race cars like Sklines have those and they are rear wheels drive.
