It's all very well slagging the kid off but yes he was an inexperienced driver and yes he probably was trying to impress his mates.

So that's alright then?

With the amount of people learning and passing their test, its inevitable a few accidents like this will happen and it will always be the minority who make a bad name for the majority.

I don't think anyone here has attempted to tar all new drivers with this brush.

I just hope the kid learns from his experience and am glad that no one was hurt.

Unfortunately, I think anybody stupid enough to be doing something so reckless as to be able to cause this much damage on a quiet residential street is unlikely to be the sort of person to respond to such subtle hints...

Pug 106... torsion bar.. These cars, along with my own; Megane Coupes, Clio valvers, etc... all suffer from lift off oversteer due to the torsion bar rear suspension setup....

Bet he hammered it into the bend and lost it then... when he lifted off as he understeered towards the kerbs/parked cars.
