There are some car jobs that are just so satisfying to do when you want to take your mind off things. High build filler primer work is one of those.

Nice destonechipped bonnet waiting for a top coat.

Only thing is I'm not too keen on using wet&dry at these temperatures. My hands are now bright pink and burning.

That brochure's gonna be worth a bomb. RS owners are utter fanatics.

The bonnet is off a 4x4 Cosworth originally. It came off a 2WD one someone welded the diff up on and introduced to a wall It's a good example of 'cosworth tax' I picked it up for £30. Once I've tidyed could go at a show to someone for near £200. As it stands, since I paid so little for it (and sold some other bits on so I've actually got a bit of profit) it'll land on my V6 for a bit. For practical purposes aswell.... since I just diteched the radiator fan.

I also just had a shift around ebay and a bunch of scanned JPEGs of the 3dr sales book are selling for over £10...... I wonder if they cleared that with ford.

I cleared out an old draw I hadn't touched in a long long time at my parents place. In there I found the ford '92 estates brochure.

There's me with a 92 estate (my 2L) and I found the sales leaflet I must have picked up when I was 8 and dad went into the dealer for the very car.

I'm hopeing to give the V6 a run out on silverstone for a few laps in the summer. They do 15 minutes track time for £20 so it'd be a nice taster. I'm not turning into a track car though, just getting everything else set up for it's future engine trasnplant.

I've been putting off the underbody sealing and waxoiling for farrrr too long now
I'm used to being able to crawl under a car to do it. Unfortunatly I can now barely get my foot under it in places.

What I'd really like to use, is a big arse fuel injected rover V8. Fits in the engine bay a treat and weighs less than the early 4 cylinder engines (might have to change my front spings, It'd be 1ft off the ground!)

The YB is a legend in itself, but looking at a lot of lot of money for that.

In between I'll probably sell out and go with the 24V V6 from the Granada. Can be picked up for £200 to £300 (whole car, so you can get some money back breaking the parts off, like the 7.5" rear LSD.... good for £75) and is an easy swap cause it's the same block. Something like 200bhp and 200ftlb of torque with the cats still on the engine.

I'd love that engine in the offroader. However I think my front suspension strust might collapse if I tried fitting one.

BMW V12 somehow fits a sierra bay.

I'm not sure what the word is on fitting the Duratec into a longitudinal setup (the nobles transverse isn't it?). I assume if the engine's used in the states there will be RWD applications. However, you're starting to talk figures bigger than late 80s ford budgets for most.

Would need to make up a sump to fit the 4x4 probably.

Might of worked out of the factory. But after 17 years I think I'd need the floor welded and braced with that kind of torque.
