Okay I'm going to buy a Puma!

    2000 FORD PUMA 1.7i 16V 3dr Coupe,
45,000 miles, Panther Black. PAS, Trip computer, Rear Wash/Wipe, Drivers airbag, ABS, Traction control, FSH, Service Dec 06, MOT Jan 07, Lux and Electric Packs, Heated W/screen, Air Con, Black and Grey interior cloth, Remote C/locking, Alarm, Taxed, CD/Radio, Electric Windows & Mirrors, Multi-spoke Alloys, Purchased from previous lady owner from new, Well looked after and in very good condition, Private plate not included, Strictly No Canvassers. £4,600. o.n.o Email

Okay so what do you reckon? Should be nippy and fun to drive, the only downside I suppose is that its got no luggage carrying capacity and might be a bit noisy on motorways?

I really don't like the back end of Puma's.. sticking a spoiler and a diffuser on, should fix it though

I like the colour though, seem's quite a good car for the money I guess.

Fiesta with tweaked suspension and an ikkle body with 125bhp to play with. I've heard from a lot of people they're good fun (got one of the 'car of the year' awards didn't it? Can't think which one). I imagine the TC gets used quite a bit.

Of course, there's the 150odd bhp one hanging about.

    -edit-

Forgot to say if you go with the 1.7 Zetec, use the best oil you can find, change it twice as much as ford state and don't use it do drive 2 minutes to the shops.

Nice enough cars if you get the full rally kit for them, otherwise theyre only a tiny step above tigras imo.

    Sorted!

Seems a tad pricey... Not bad cars though despite their Fiesta underpinnings. I prefer the Tigra, but then again that's just a Corsa.. Lol

Definately a cut above a tigra imo. If only for the Ford Racing Puma, which drags the whole range's status up for me.

I just read THIS which reads like a horror story.

Now I'm not so sure anymore

    What do you reckon?

The initial brake problems are well known and should all be sorted now.

There's probably truth in there, but it's hard to pick out amongst the raveing. I could pick any car (one I hate or love) and probably write a load of stuff like that in all honesty.

[quote]Also - Ford are never willing to let me watch the work being carried out - Something which I find disturbing.[/quote Not a proper ford dealer. Their policy is 'transparent work' All the dealers should have inspection windows in their workshops etc etc.

Although I'd prefer just to do it myself in most cases

If that worries you, talk it over with someone who's owned one and preferably doesn't now. Avoid the rose tints, in other words.

    One of Lowe's favourite cars!

Go get it if you like it. I dont think they are bad cars at all.

No Sensei, i'm not kicking the mats to waste time, they have parted and I don't want to injure myself!

Nice cars - m8 has one and they sound and go well. Only fly in the ointment is I think they were voted britain's second gayest car (after the Smart) lol
