    Yup, looked at quotes.

I originally wanted a GT but the insurance is about 5 times more than the SRI, and the SRI is only 20bhp less so, with a few less goodies so yeah.

I'll have my dad as the named driver, but I think iirc it was about £600 for a year.. maybe 10 months.

Edit: Yeah £608 for 10 months. But that's all stock, so I expect to pay a little more probably. It will be a slow moving project too probably so by the time I've got things the way I like it the insurance will of gone down. I hope.

Edit2: Forget to mention, the SRI and GT are in the same insurance group, and even though they have the same engine size the insurance difference is VERY big. I think the reason for the car having cheap insurance is it doesn't have the reputation for boy racers to ride.

@Midzt: Yeah, well from new I recon I can get one built for about £400-500, but I'll probably just buy all the parts second hand for maybe 350

No. But I did put myself down as an additional driver. I think I tried doing it in my own name and it was too expensive, put it that way lol.

cant do that - its technically illegal (called fronting). the main driver HAS to be the person who drives it most

Actually, when you get a quote it asks who the main driver is - which is the person who uses the car most, regardless.
I could be on my fathers policy and be put down as the main driver if I wanted.

And it would cost about £10 less than having your own policy

    Actually about £2000 difference.

Can we please get back to the original subject?

Where have you looked for the screen so far? I've looked around aswell, like ebay and stuff (don't really trust the quality of them tbh) and they seem to cost quite a bit. I'm going HK later this year, so hopefully I can find something cheap there

First place I looked was eBay, their prices are very tempting, but I'm worried about quality - they could break after a few weeks.

You'll definitely find something cheap in Hong Kong... but as I said, cheap.
