Easily removable touch screen LCD?

Are there any decent touch screen LCD's that could be fitted into a car (obviously the dash will probably need cutting) but something that could easily be removed so it could be taken out of the car at night.

Edit: Even better - something that could be attached to the dash (e.g. something that clips onto it?) without leaving any trace after.

I want a EPIA MII 1200, VoomPC case, motorised eject 7" monitor and will probably run RoadRunner with an Audi MMI styled skin....thats if i ever get round to putting it together that is...

The only thing holding me back is where to mount a TFT on my dashboard. And the cost.

well i replaced a cassette head unit with seperate CD player in my golf (dual DIN dash board) with a Sony DAB CD player so have a slot just waiting for the screen

I'm buggered if i change my car...

One thing I considered doing to the Saloon, but in the end found a TomTom 700 to do just as good a job.

However, not wanting to piss on your parade or anything, but this is when you pass your test yes? I can't imagine the insurance being much fun with that, especially with mods etc Have you had quotes?

Hi XA04 nice car btw but have you looked to see how much that car is goin to cost you in insurance? (Its a 2.0 litre). I'm 19 and the cheapest quote i have seen for me (fully comp) on a 1.1 liter vw polo is 1400quid! My only thought is that, that 2.0 monster will cost you atleast 3k for the first year.

I was thinking og building a Carputer for my car, but there seemed to much to do and when I looked into it more i couldn't really afford it.
I'm now planning on using a laptop and docking it in the boot instead, then having a touchscreen at the front. Hopefully thatll work ok.

Nice car mate... you got quotes/ideas about how much for insurance yet? It not necessril as expensive as everyone makes out. I never thuoght i'd get insured on a 1.6 at around £1100.

Also, anyone now how to do this? Looks cool
