    Mazda getting interesting...

Ive been half-looking around for a new and bigger car to replace my pocket rocket tweaked Fabia vRS..

i have to say id never really looked at mazda until watching topgear on sunday.. the MPS series look quite tempting
even the mazda 3 (golf gti rival) is 70kg lighter, with 250bhp
and the 6 mps has got 260bhp and 4 wheel drive... all for less than all the rivals too!

    might have to investigate further

Yes... but as Jeremy said, it's like a girl... she has good looks, she's funny, she's clever, but she has a mustache.

Looks are entirely personal. I think the Mazda 6 looks fantastic, as does the 3. I want that vRS of yours also

Ya, Mazda's been getting interesting again over the past few years. I don't think the RX8 wa as successful as they'd hoped (it was hardly a successor to the RX7) but in the middle-range market they seem to be doing quite well.

I still entertain the pipe dream that they'll bring the FD back into production, though

Itll be good.. but its still VW based..
TBH id still rather have a new octavia vRS than a new Leon..
Usual tuneability applies... got a mate with a Octy II vRS.. with a remap, cai and exhaust.. its pushing 275bhp at the wheels.. its fecking quick but a handful with it being FWD

Considering the market the Mazda 6 is aiming for, its very competative... the mundano st220 is 1k more, and hasnt got half the toys... the only thing thats optional on the mps is sat-nav!

The Mazda is a pretty smart looking car - taught and sinewy but in an understated way. Its alot more of an interesting design that the other saloon / hatchback cars in its class and you just know that its never going to break down, even with 4WD and 100k miles under its belt.

Have to agree about the grille - its looks a bit weird. The strange thing is, in the pre-production design the grille never looked like that.

    Pre-production MPS

The Successor to the RX7 will be of a similar size, have a new larger 1.6 litre engine and over 300 BHP to play with. It looks amazing aswell.
