    Thumbs up HX620W - awesome!

Moved my rig into new case with modified w/c setup and now realised that my trusty Corsair HX620 is really doing well.

Case is modified V2000 with PA120.2 and 4 nexus fans. Runs another 3 of these elsewhere as well as
    Q6600 @ 3.6 and Laing DDC pump
    6GB RAM
    MSI 7900GTO (512MB o/c past GTX)
Gigabyte P35-DS4 with 6 hard drives on the Intel SATA Controller and 2 Optical drives on the Gigabyte (Jmicron) controller)
Adaptec 4 port SATAII in the second PCI-e slot running 4x and this holds the boot drives 4 x 500 GB Seagates in RAID 10
Adaptec 6 port SATAII in a PCI slot running a further 6 hard drives

So my PSU is running 16 hard drives (~5845.1 formatted GB of space), as well as other standard and it doesn't miss a beat.

So this post is just to say Thank you Corsair, and perhaps ask whether I need to think about a more powerful PSU. The 620 is quiet even with everything on and the PC runs 24/7 at 100% on all cores (alien hunting!).

Why are you asking that question, if the 620w is happily powering everything already?

Yeah, I've got a HX620W too. And I too love mine. Read a review a while back that tested the HX620W and it found out that the HX620W actually puts out about 800W! That is ****ing epic!

Just to check the PSU isn't under 'strain'. Have had some nasty experiences with various PSU's in the past and just wanna be sure

No, your system is a light or moderate load at best even with all the drives.

    Re: HX620W - awesome!

as Yellowbeard said.. the corsair HX620w is way more than enough to handle your system...

TBH you would prolly be fine with a VX450w... corsairs PSU's are exceptional TBH, IIRC the VX450w was able to take 700w stable load... it's not the stated wattage that is important, it is what the PSU can actually deliver

i'm incredibly impressed with my HX620w, as it has practically all airflow blocked off and heats up to 60c+ yet still keeps everything stable... if that isn't a good product then i don't know what is...

    edit:
I seem to be in a very praising mood ... don't worry.. it won't happen again

Can I just ask, what the hell do you do with 16 drives?
