Window Mod

Hi, I have a quick question about window mods.
I recently bought a window kit, it came with a perspex window (rounded square), some rubber lining and a few other bits and bobs. Now i have seen some cases with the rubber moulding around the windows and they look quite poor. Now i know you can mount them with bolts/screws but i dunno what measurements or anything. Can anyone point out anything thats wrong or just give me any suggestions.
