HOWEVER, on the terms of cooling, Black cases will absorb and transfer more radiation. So if it's under a desk, it will be better at cooling. If it's somewhere exposed to the sun, however it will be more likely to heat up, due to the fact it absorbs more radiation.
Are the insides of most black cases bare metal though as there just sprayed so that will have no effect will it?

The amount of heat removed by radiation is insignificant when compared to the amount of heat removed by the passage of air.

Case colour/material will make no perceptable difference to temps.
Many people moved from terribly designed steel cases to their first Alu case. Which most of tend to be well designed.

So temps dropped - They put this down to them being Alu, or black etc.
Whereas it is actually down to the case being designed well and having proper placement of fans and decent fan grills.

I changed my hardware in my HC setup at the end of 2005 so my black ATX case had to go.

should i go for thermaltake armor jr. or aguila? (I need a windowed case so that people would see my beautiful wiring and beautiful heat sinks.. lol) childish i know but sleek is only for the media centre pc downstairs... but not for my gaming one.... cant be arsed to buy a new window for my lian li... plus the thing is in silver

dont suggest p180 and eclipse because i like the internals of boths but not their appearance (ok they are simplistic, but not beautiful simplistic.. normal simplistic i should say)

Too late I suppose but my rig is silver (lian-li) but all the drives/floppy are black, looks okay-ish plus you don't see all the dust on the case as you do with black.

Went for Black myself. My next case is likely to be a black Lian Li PC7 plus. Seems good for the money and matches my monitor, keyboard etc.

The Lexa is pretty nice in my opinion. Personally I prefer something understated and the Lexa isn't that hehe. It's bold without being garish.

Shiny aluminium is nicer if you're buying an expensive quality case, but black looks decent on everything - even the cheapest cases, and you can get drives that don't stand out, which is always a bonus.

Silver gets my vote.. though black does look nice, silver would be easier for me if i were to spray/anodize /chrome the case etc at a later date. Less prep work to be done than if it was in black.
