Re: Half Life - Orange Box Xbox 360

Wow I am absolutely amazed at how poor Half Life 2 is I am about 3/4 of the way through the first episode and just cannot get into it at all, clumsy controls, plodding pace, loading or saving every 5 minutes with cut scenes that look as if they are aimed at a brain dead 10 year old ... and the thing is I love Old Style FPS games like Doom, Quake, Timesplitters, Wolfenstein & Serious Sam. I just don't know if I should continue as I am left feeling pretty empty with how laboured and tedious it seems - seems a bit of a chore tbh.

The strangest things is that all the reviews seem to give it almost a flawless score which I cannot for the life of me work out why compared to some of the above I have mentioned.

    Should I keep going????
    Does it get any better????

It's a PC game that's definitely best played on a PC, not X360.

HL2 episode one is shocking I loved Half Life 2 but then episode one was really poor imo. Episode 2 was better but there needs to be a big improvement in the next game for the series to recover.

    Lower standards im afraid David

This generation is full of average games, adorned with ridiculous 'WOW 9/10 AAA Awesome' scores

Its the same game though. A keyboard and mouse would negate the clumsy control issue and the game would most likely be technically better (not that it is any way bad on 360) but it would not change the fact that it is an underwhelming game

Re: Half Life - Orange Box Xbox 360

I enjoyed Episode 2 the most by far, personally i thought HL2 and Ep1 were too much of a chore at times, i can see why people would enjoy them though.
